Senior Transportation Project Manager
AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager to support our exciting projects in the Lexington, KY office. The appropriately qualified applicant will have demonstrated experience in project and client management of multi-disciplinary transportation projects.
The candidate will have various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group / department.
Responsibilities include :
- Building strong relationships and interacting regularly with existing and new clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders
- Continuing and strengthening client relationships within the Surface Transportation Industry, specific to public sector clients
- Identifying, pursuing, and winning Surface Transportation and infrastructure design projects
- Coordinating and collaborating with other leaders within AECOM's U.S. West Transportation Group
- Serving as lead engineer, approving, and signing off on work on local, state, and federal projects
- Providing technical expertise for studies and design efforts
- Performing technical reviews of work developed by others
- Continuously interacting with clients assuring satisfaction with AECOM services and interacting with project delivery personnel to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner
- Driving project performance and being responsible for the performance of a portfolio of projects
- Collaborating with peers / leaders in the AECOM U.S. West department to leverage technical expertise, ensure client satisfaction, and implement best practices
- Participating in development of technical proposals
Minimum Requirements :
BS / BA + 10 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or educationPreferred Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferredProject Management experience in Roadway / Highway projectsOpenRoads Design software experience is a plusProficiency in transportation design software, including OpenRoads, Microstation, and InRoadsRegistered Professional Engineer in Kentucky or ability to retain PE within 1 yearMinimum of 8 years of experience in transportation engineering and project managementProven track record of successfully managing complex roadway / highway projectsRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) in Kentucky or ability to obtain within one yearStrong knowledge of transportation industry standards, regulations, and best practicesExcellent leadership, team management, and mentoring skillsOutstanding communication and presentation abilities, with experience in client-facing rolesAnalytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management toolsDetail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentWillingness to adapt to new technologies and innovative approaches in transportation engineering
