Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Migrate functionality from legacy Perl applications to modern Python / Django
  • Collaborate with management and other developers to deliver solution
  • Contribute to development best practices for development team
  • Create and maintain clear documentation in support of application

Development Skills

  • Proficiency in Python and Django for backend development.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML / CSS, and frontend templates.
  • Experience with Celery task queues or comparable asynchronous work frameworks
  • Knowledge of MariaDB / PostgreSQL and Redis for database management and caching.
  • Experience with REST and web based APIs to third party applications
  • Experience with Git for version control and collaboration.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, cloud environments, and continuous integration / deployment (CI / CD).
  • Experience with agile methodologies and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document technical processes clearly.
  • Understanding with basic networking concepts and SNMP polling
