Accounting Analyst
Pay $22-25 per hour
Hours - M-Th - 7 : 30-4 p.m. and Friday 7 : 30-12 p.m.
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Analyst to join our growing team. This role will support our financial operations by working directly for our Controller in the completion of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, ensuring accurate accounting records, analyzing financial data to complete required tasks, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our construction-focused business. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings a strong foundation in accounting principles, with preference given to those with experience in the construction industry.
Job Responsibilities :
- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable / receivable, general ledger entries, as well as various types of activity reconciliations.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, preparing journal entries, accruals, and financial statements.
- Proficient in Excel to analyze job costing, project expenses, and variances for construction projects to support budgeting and forecasting.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for audits.
- Reconcile subcontractor and vendor invoices.
- Generate financial reports, KPIs, and ad-hoc analyses to aid management decision-making, as requested.
- Maintain accurate records in accounting software (Sage 300 Construction Accounting).
Job Requirements :
Required : Minimum 2 years of accounting experience.Preferred : Experience in the construction industry (e.g., job costing, AIA billing, prevailing wage).Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Previous experience with Sage, a plus.Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.Strong communication skills for interacting with team members, clients and vendors.Knowledge of construction-specific accounting (e.g., percentage-of-completion method) is a plus.IND123
