Responsibilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This role is non-managerial and reports to a designated supervisor or manager.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or eligible for licensure in South Carolina. Senior students graduating within three months are welcome to apply.
Certifications / Registrations / Licenses Required
Must possess or be eligible for a Respiratory Care Practitioner license in South Carolina. BLS certification is required. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Employees hired prior to June 2016 may hold a Certified Respiratory Therapist credential.
New hires since June 2016 must achieve a passing score on the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam and take the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months. Failure to pass the simulation exam will result in termination from Prisma Health.
NRP and PALS certifications are required in the Children's Hospital prior to independent work in the NICU and PICU.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is crucial, along with strong communication, computer, and organizational skills.
