Role Overview & Key Functions :
As a Karyopharmer, you will positively impact patients' lives by :
- Becomes a subject matter expert with strong business acumen allowing for deep understanding of unmet medical needs and therapeutic landscape
- Collaborates and builds strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders for specific products or therapeutic areas of focus
- Develops innovative approach to internal and external resources or tactics that promote impactful external engagements and supports the strategy of key medical stakeholders
- Developments and updates a scientific communication platform aligned with strategic medical imperatives, with an understanding of how this platform will inform the overall Medical Affairs and Brand strategy
- Generates an Annual Medical Communications Plan for specific products or indications based on scientific and unmet medical needs
- Develops and implements a training plan for Field-based and HQ based Medical Affairs staff with both short and long-range goals and objectives based on GMSA's Strategic Plan and Scientific Communication Platform
- Directly provides training of Medical Affairs staff or ensures that provisions are in place to have the training carried out by other internal subject matter experts or external resources. This would include a Medical Affairs-specific, new hire on-boarding for new Medical Affairs employees; therapeutic area training (disease state and product-specific); US congress and internal meeting support, core developmental and professional skills
- Supports development of medical / scientific content for scientific exchange, congresses, advisory boards, and training
- Ensures delivery of high-quality, fair-balanced, scientifically / clinically accurate medical communications deliverables in accordance with established timelines, compliance guidelines / policies, and budgets
- Manages external medical agencies assisting with medical content planning and development
- Manages medical affairs website
- Supports Medical Information call center as needed
Candidate Profile & Requirements :
You will rock this role if you bring :
Doctoral level degree (Ph.D., Pharm.D., or M.D.) in life sciences with minimum of 5 years bio-pharmaceutical industry experience within Medical or Clinical AffairsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and effectively communicate complex scientific and clinical data to internal and external stakeholdersAbility to work cross functionally with medical review team including medical directors, legal, regulatoryPreferred Qualifications :
Experience in Medical CommunicationsClinical knowledge in Oncology and particularly Hematology / OncologyCritical thinking - willing to challenge the status quoAbility to understand, critically analyze, and summarize complex scientific and medical data and understand risk taking approach regarding claimsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously, thinks critically, and adheres to deadlinesAbility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities or business needsOur Value Proposition :
