Sushi Chef for Traditional Japanese Restaurant
We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our small boutique Japanese restaurant in Bergen County NJ.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in kitchen management and food production. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the restaurant in delivering high-quality dishes while ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position requires creativity, leadership, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Responsibilities-
Assist in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities.
Assist with daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
Monitor inventory levels, manage supplies and assist with ordering to control costs and reduce waste.
Help maintain a positive work environment by fostering open communication among team members.
Collaborate with owners and management to implement new menu items and special promotions.
Requirements-
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role with Japanese or Asian cuisine.
Strong knowledge of kitchen management principles and food production techniques.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to help others succeed in their roles.
