Key Responsibilities

The Decommission Technician is responsible for disassembling power distribution units and recovering usable materials in a safe, efficient manner. The role includes salvaging metals and parts, properly handling and disposing of oils, solvents,

• Disassemble decommissioned power distribution units.  Some basic tools must be furnished by the associate.
• Salvage metals and useable parts from decommissioned power distribution units.
• Proper handling and disposal of oils, solvents and other liquid compounds.
• Move units down conveyor track from in-processing to decommission building.
• Ability to use hand and pneumatic tools.
• Operate forklift, overhead crane and other material handling equipment as needed.
• Responsible for all shop equipment and tools in his / her work area.
• Must be willing to work overtime and call-in hours as required.
• Work requires close interaction with other associates.  Must be able to function in a team-oriented environment.
