Summer Stars Coach 2025

Job Summary

To provide positive and reliable interaction with the young men and women that participates in Summer Stars. Also, to help create a positive environment where the players demonstrate sportsmanship, fundamental skills, teamwork and responsibility.

Position Summary

• Understand and abide by all policies and procedures outlined in the Part-Time Employee Manual.
• Enforce all Milwaukee Public Schools and Milwaukee Recreation policies and rules.
• A working knowledge of the MPS policies, procedures, programs, and services.
• Coaches are responsible for all duties related to their respective teams.
• Coaches will be responsible for contacting their players to give league updates and game times.
• Communicate effectively with participants / patrons and staff.
• Be professional in the work place at all times.
• Remain alert, free of distractions and diffuse situations before they escalate.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Adheres to all Covid-19 policies and procedures.

Supervision Required

Works under the direction of the Recreation Supervisors.

Job Requirements

Ensure players arrive in their required Summer Stars uniform.

Working Environment

This environment includes walking, standing for long periods of time, and possible loud noises when exposed to activities in the gym or similar environment. Staff will be required to supervise groups of young adults as well as assist in the accommodation of children and / or adults with disabilities (within parameters of provided training).
