Shipping Clerk

Description

The shipping position verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for both domestic and international shipments. The shipper will work closely with Sales to meet to shipping expectation for each customer.

Responsibilities (not limited to)

• Print daily sales orders and cross-check with computer software to ensure accuracy
• Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs
• Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped
• Quality control-verifying that the items boxed match the items on the sales order
• Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping
• Track inventory and report any shortages to General Manager.
• Process orders based on the customers preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS UPS FedEx etc.)
• Contact carrier and schedule for pick up as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Provide assistance in other departments as needed.

Requirements

Requirements :

High School Degree or equivalent

This individual must be able to work independently fast paced and meet deadlines. Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Shipping software experience (e.g. Fedex UPS USPS) preferred but not required.
