Fire Marshal Position
Mission Statement of the Office of State Fire Marshal : To uphold the law and provide for the protection of life and property from the hazards of fire or explosion, to ensure the safety of our citizens in the constructed environment, to provide equal access to disabled individuals, and to promote the efficient use of energy in commercial buildings. Minimum Qualifications : Three years of experience in administrative services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION : Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information : Job Duties : Performs responsible departmental-program duties in accordance with rules, regulations, and policies. May involve communication with other departments, customers, etc. Serves as liaison and / or contact person for the department or office between and amongst other departments, customers, vendors, and agencies. Receives applications or other forms and reviews for compliance with department policies; works to resolve discrepancies; may make initial determinations regarding a client's eligibility for department services. Position-Specific Details : Appointment Type : Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. Career Progression : This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group. Work Schedule : Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Monday Friday. Location : This vacancy is located in East Baton Rouge Parish. Compensation : The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The bi-weekly rate for this position is as follows : Administrative Coordinator 4 (AS611) - $1,260.80.
