Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Facilities and Safety Officer to join our leadership team. This pivotal role requires a visionary leader with a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of our hospital’s facilities management and safety programs, ensuring the environment supports our mission to provide exceptional health care.

Key Responsibilities :

As the Director of Facilities and Safety Officer, you will establish and implement best practices for facilities maintenance, ensuring that our hospital environment continues to be safe, well-maintained, and compliant with all regulatory standards. You will develop strategies that optimize the use of hospital facilities, manage capital projects, and lead a team responsible for day-to-day operations of the physical plant, including HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and biomedical equipment. You'll coordinate emergency response strategies, design and implement safety drills, and lead incident investigations to continuously improve our hospital’s preparedness and response capabilities.

Moreover, you will play a crucial role in sustainability initiatives, identifying opportunities for energy efficiency and waste reduction, driving initiatives that enhance the environmental performance of our facilities. Your leadership will also extend to risk management and safety compliance, conducting regular safety audits and ensuring adherence to OSHA, JCAHO, and other relevant standards. We're looking for someone who can foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all departments, mentoring and developing staff to raise awareness and commitment to safety issues.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field, alongside at least ten years of progressive experience in facility management or safety operations within a healthcare setting. A proven track record in maintaining compliance with healthcare facilities regulations and a deep understanding of safety and emergency preparedness planning are essential. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills are a must, with the ability to inspire a team and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
