Job Title : Scientist 2 - Polymer Scientist

Location : Research Triangle Park, NC

Duration : 12 months

Work Hours : 1st Shift, 8 hrs / day; 40 hrs / week, Onsite 8 AM - 5 PM

Interview Process :

1 Teams Interview (45 minutes)

1 Onsite Interview (4+ hours) with presentation and team interviews

Job Description : Overview :

  • Seeking a hands-on Polymer Scientist to support R\&D of innovative medical device technologies, focusing on biomaterials and formulations such as hydrogels, coatings, and resorbable polymers.
  • The role involves lab-based work, material characterization, and functional testing under the guidance of an R\&D Manager.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and characterize biomaterial formulations for medical applications
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data using lab instrumentation (e.g., rheometer, Instron, DSC, GPC)
  • Support material functionalization, in-vitro / in-vivo testing, and prototype evaluation
  • Collaborate across scientific teams and document technical results

    • Must Haves :

  • Hands-on lab experience with polymers, biomaterials, or formulations
  • Experience with material characterization tools (rheometer, Instron, spectroscopic methods, etc.)
  • Ability to design, execute, and document scientific experiments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Ph.D. preferred
  • Fields : Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline
  • Research experience (during or after graduate school) required
