Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have experience in both bookkeeping and tax preparation, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple client files. You’ll be responsible for maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and preparing accurate and compliant individual and business tax returns.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile financial records using QuickBooks Online

Record and categorize transactions, reconcile bank and credit card accounts

Prepare and file federal and state income tax returns for individuals and small businesses (1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S, etc.)

Prepare financial statements and support documents for tax filing

Communicate with clients to gather necessary documents and clarify details

Assist with year-end closing, payroll reports, and 1099 / 941 / 940 filings

Ensure compliance with IRS and state tax regulations

Support CPA or EA in review and finalization of tax returns

Qualifications

Minimum 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping and / or tax preparation

Proficiency in QuickBooks Online , Excel, and tax software (ProConnect, Drake, or similar)

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Ability to work independently with attention to detail and accuracy

EA or CPA credential a plus, but not required
