Job Title : Environmental Engineer

WORK SHIFT : 0800-1700 - 9 / 80 Schedule (Work 9 hour days with every other Friday off)
BILL RATE MAX : $36 / Hr. W2
Responsibilities for Environmental Engineer 2 :
- Review and interpret federal, state, and local regulations to determine their impact on operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
- Conduct compliance audits, inspections, and risk assessments, including industrial hygiene and ergonomic evaluations.
- Manage hazardous and radioactive waste, including contract management with disposal firms.
- Provide regulatory requirements and recommendations for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during project and tool design reviews.
- Create and update Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Prepare environmental reports for new projects, processes, and permit changes.
- Assist with accident and incident investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
Basic Qualifications for Environmental Engineer 2 :
The ability to communicate and work effectively with others is essential.Be able to solve complex problems by actively seeking new ideas and quickly mastering unfamiliar situations.Understanding of primary environmental laws and regulations, such as the Clean Water Act, is often required.Experience in areas like incident investigations, job hazard analysis, and EHS training may be neededPreferred Qualifications for Environmental Engineer 2 :
Familiarity with specific state and federal environmental regulations and agencies is preferred, such as those in New York (NYSDEC, NYSDOH) or the EPA.Experience in a variety of environmental compliance programs is highly desirable, including those related to the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).Experience in conducting environmental training and developing online training materials is beneficial.
