Job Summary
At Stratus Team LLC, our financial infrastructure supports our continued innovation and growth. We are seeking a qualified Assistant Controller to contribute strategic and operational expertise to our accounting and finance team. This pivotal role will support the Controller by overseeing the closing activities, enhancing internal controls, identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing new functionality in the ERP. The ideal candidate is a seasoned accounting professional with strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of accounting operations.
Primary Functions
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Experience with multi-entity intercompany account reconciliation and processes
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial management and lender reporting
- Perform detailed financial analysis and present key findings to senior management
- Review and approve reconciliations of general ledger, bank, and credit card accounts
- Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting
- Preparation of the daily cashflow forecast
- Assist with treasury functions
- Provide mentorship and oversight to junior accounting team members
- Assist with updating technical accounting memos on an as-needed basis
- Develop, maintain, and enhance internal control procedures
- Coordinate and support external audit and tax preparation processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to support strategic initiatives
- Recommend improvements to financial systems and reporting processes, particularly within the ERP environment
Qualifications
Master’s degree in accounting or CPA (required)7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including management rolesAdvanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standardsExperience with ERP platforms (Deltek Vision (or VantagePoint) ERP is a plus)Experience with Finquery (a plus)Strong technical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detailProficiency in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelStrong communication skills and the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholdersDeadline-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving capabilitiesExperience with ASC 805 Accounting for business combinations and system integrations (preferred)Equal Opportunity Statement
