Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

Design and revise production drawings using AutoCAD

Perform structural calculations including seismic, wind, and snow loads based on applicable building codes

Ensure compliance with engineering standards such as AWWA, API, NFPA, and NSF

Approve and seal drawings for customer submittals

Work closely with sales, project management, shop, and field teams to meet client specifications

Support fabrication with plasma cutting layouts and component designs

Maintain customer and stock part drawing databases

Provide engineering support for both new tank construction and tank repair projects

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Minimum 5 years of engineering experience

Completed or working toward FE / EIT certification; PE licensure preferred

Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software

Strong skills in mathematics and geometry

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and independently with minimal supervision

Willingness to become proficient in standards such as AWS, API 650 / 653 / 620, AWWA D100, OSHA, and NFPA
