Description :

The role involves the day to day oversight, coordination, and execution of many application server administration and infrastructure tasks, working as part of a larger architecture and infrastructure team.  These tasks include set-up and configuration of new environments, servers, instances and the configuration and modification of existing instances of multiple COTS products, especially WebSphere.  In addition to overseeing and managing WebSphere instances, experience managing COTS products, which are hosted on WAS (or other application servers), is a plus.  This position is also responsible for the tuning, oversight, and troubleshooting of the application servers that host java-based applications and associated COTS products.

Experience :

• 5 years working on technology projects
• Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software as necessary
• Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
• Strong Linux and Windows skills
• Exposure and understanding of server shell scripting in a Linux environment
• Strong understanding of networking and infrastructure, including virtualization.
• 5+ years’ experience with configuring, installing and administration of IBM WebSphere Application Server
• Experience with installation, configuration, administration and tuning of Linux and Windows applications.
• Strong experience in working with development teams and understanding of server configurations for large J2EE applications.
• Strong understanding of configuring clustering,  load balancing and performance tuning for server products
