Job Details

Competitive pay : $30.00 - $32.00 per hour

Great Schedule : Monday-Friday; alternating every 2 - 3 weeks to work a Saturday

Shift Times : 8 : 30am-5 : 00pm

Duration : 4-5 months

Start Date : Late January

Department : Bass Infusion Center

Location : Palo Alto, California

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Medical Assistant Diploma
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and clinical procedures
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work empathetically with children
  • Ability to remain calm, positive, and focused in fast-paced or stressful situations
  • Reliable, organized, and excellent time management skills

    • Responsibilities

  • Front office support
  • Greet and check in patients; verify insurance and authorizations
  • Schedule appointments and manage reminder calls
  • Answer phones, route messages, scan / fax documents, manage intake paperwork
  • Collect patient demographic, payments, and obtain consent forms
  • Clinical Back Office
  • Room pediatric patients and record vitals, height, weight, and medical history
  • Prepare exam and infusion rooms with supplies and equipment
  • Assist nurses and providers during procedures and infusion visits
  • Administer vaccines and assist with injections
  • Perform point-of-care testing and collect lab specimens
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in EPIC
  • Family Support & Communication
  • Provide compassionate support to children receiving infusions
  • Offer clear communication to parents regarding visit flow and expectations
  • Respond promptly to patient questions, concerns, and provider messages
  • Maintain a child-friendly, safe, organized environment
  • Operations Support
  • Maintain inventory, restock supplies, and ensure clean work areas
  • Escalate urgent patient concerns appropriately
  • Collaborate with nursing, administrative teams, and infusion staff
  • Participate in a rotating Saturday shift (every 2 - 3 weeks)
