This position will serve as the Clinical within the Child and Adolescent Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program (CHAAMP), which is housed within the UNC Department of Psychiatry. The individual in this role will oversee multiple federal- and philanthropic-funded research studies and will contribute to the strategic growth of CHAAMP. This position will help lead a broad range of activities related to planning, organizing, executing, managing, and monitoring the implementation of new and existing initiatives including observational studies and clinical trials. Other duties of this position may include assisting with strategic planning, study design, grant planning and submissions, budget planning and management, development of study procedures, adverse event reporting, manuscript writing, and stakeholder engagement. This position will also supervise and manage other staff and graduate and undergraduate students.

Some specific responsibilities include :

  • Oversight and operational management of 3-5 research projects
  • Identification of funding opportunities and supporting grant development
  • Assisting with proposal preparation, submissions and funder reporting
  • Contributing to the publication of peer-reviewed manuscripts
  • Design of cross-study workflows and infrastructure
  • Supervising research staff across studies and leading development of onboarding systems, policies and procedures across the program
  • Coordinating with external partners and contributing to public-facing communications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure. Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Master’s or doctoral degree (or foreign degree equivalent) required. Experience with planning, organizing, executing, managing, and / or monitoring the implementation of new and existing research initiatives. Experience with grant planning and submissions, budget planning and management, development of study procedures, adverse event reporting, and / or manuscript writing. Outstanding oral and written communication skills and analytic / problem-solving skills.

Additional qualifications needed :

  • At least years of experience in clinical or behavioral health research
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior research staff and trainees
  • Experience supporting grant development, including writing or contributing to grant proposals
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of coordinating complex, multi-site or multi-stakeholder research projects
