Salary : $15-$20 / hr

Job Summary

Join our team as an Environmental Services Technician (Level I) and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Youll be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, common areas, and equipment while adhering to infection prevention and safety standards. As part of the Environmental Services team, youll directly contribute to patient care by ensuring a hygienic and comfortable space that supports healing and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning & Disinfection : Perform daily cleaning of patient rooms (occupied and discharge / transfer), clinical areas, and common spaces using proper techniques and disinfectants.
  • Infection Prevention : Follow strict protocols for hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Waste Management : Safely handle and dispose of waste, ensuring proper segregation of medical, hazardous, and recyclable materials.
  • Equipment & Supplies : Maintain a well-stocked and organized cleaning cart, ensuring tools and equipment are properly used and stored.
  • Safety & Compliance : Adhere to all hospital safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines.
  • Patient-Centered Approach : Actively contribute to a positive patient experience by maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Team Collaboration : Support department initiatives to improve cleanliness metrics and may assist in onboarding new technicians.
  • Additional Tasks : Assist with special assignments such as setting up / dismantling conference rooms, cleaning stairwells and elevators, and hanging cubicle curtains as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting practices in healthcare settings is preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to safety, confidentiality (HIPAA), and infection control procedures.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required for the role.
