POSITION REPORTS TO : Participant Services Manager
POSITION SUPERVISES : No direct supervisory responsibilities, but serves as a coach and mentor for program members
CLASSIFICATION : Regular, Full-time, Non-Exempt
POSITION PURPOSE :
The Food Services Coordinator helps run the AYW Food Program by providing nutritious, high-quality meals in a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment. This role oversees meal planning, preparation, inventory management, and kitchen cleanliness while maintaining compliance with food safety standards. By supporting daily food service operations, the coordinator contributes to AYWs commitment to health, well-being, and program sustainability. During the summer, this position also assists the facilities team with basic maintenance and participates in professional development to enhance skills.

QUALIFICATIONS : Preferred :
Food manager certification
Minimum Required
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION : High School Diploma or GED; Food handlers certification
EXPERIENCE : One-year experience preparing food in a commercial and, or school setting with significant customer interaction. Two years of previous related experience working with academically and socially at-risk opportunity youth, young adults with criminal records, and a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, cultural and spiritual practices. Related experience in jobs training, youth development, working with contracts, reporting measurements, compliance, member coordination and, or working as a YouthBuild / AmeriCorps model

This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. WORKING MODEL AND CONDITIONS :

INDOORS : Environmentally controlled conditions, working in an office or shared office setting, working with others in a group or team; contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone, or otherwise), No hazardous conditions. May be required to work in hot, wet, cold, or other significantly unpleasant conditions;
OUTDOORS : None,
ATTENDANCE : Monday Friday, 40-hour workweek, starting at 7 : 15 AM and generally ending at 4 : 15 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Occasionally, some weekends to meet deadlines / special projects; Overtime must be preapproved
TRAVEL : Travel to the grocery store for monthly pick-up, service projects, workshops, training, and staff retreats
