University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) Special Care Unit - UAB Special Care Unit is an elite team of acute care professionals who treat catastrophically ill, medically complex patients requiring extended acute care. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant's responsibilities include, but are not limited to the implementation of the O.T. plan of care utilizing established professional standards. This position is responsible for patient documentation as well as contributing to the overall effectiveness of the rehabilitation services department. Patients are adult age through geriatric.

Job Qualifications :

• Education – Successful completion of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Experience – Two years of experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Licensure – Current State Certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant
• Certifications – BLS required
