About The Area :
Come for the Southern hospitality, stay for the soul food, historic homes, eclectic
neighborhoods, growing art and music scene, low cost of living—the list of what makes
Savannah a magical place to live goes on and on. Located in beautiful southeast
Georgia near the coast, this charming mid-sized city offers a plethora of possibilities for
newcomers to peruse. Stroll along a quaint cobblestone pathway lined with Spanish
moss-covered oaks in one of Savannah’s iconic public squares. Treat your taste buds to
the best in coastal cuisine (yum, shrimp and grits!) at a local restaurant. Or pick out the
perfect painting to add to your new place from the many galleries nestled in Savannah
City Market, a four-block shopping destination that’s been in operation since the 1700s.
If you’re ready to relax outdoors, pedal around the picturesque city streets by bike,
paddle your kayak down the scenic Savannah River or set sail on the mighty Atlantic
Ocean. Best of all, the gorgeous white-sand beaches of Tybee Island are just a 20-
minute drive from downtown, so bring your sunscreen for an afternoon of sunning,
swimming, and sandcastle-making. There’s a lot to like about Savannah, but what you’ll
really love is how kind and welcoming its residents are—Condé Nast Traveler readers
named it the fourth friendliest city in the U.S. in 2020.
