Job Summary
The Curriculum & Instruction Supervisor is primarily responsible for supporting teachers in implementing research-based strategies and curricula, with emphasis on Yoeme language, history, and cultural immersive curricula. In addition, this position will supervise the curriculum team in designing and developing criteria for new curriculum programs and instructional practices for the Itom Ili Tosapo Am Remtituane Early Childhood Learning Center.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities are outlined :
- Coordinate the curriculum team in designing and developing criteria for existing and new curricular programs and instructional practices consistent with the center's vision and mission.
- Uses, modifies, and streamlines curriculum alignment forms and processes for the curriculum team.
- Implements and reports the status of childcare center curriculum initiatives.
- Serves as a curriculum resource and / or liaison to childcare center teachers, administration, community members, tribal council, and other key stakeholders.
- Able to write and edit Yoeme language, history, and cultural content.
- Create an approved substitute log and / or fill in the classroom when staff is absent.
- Collaboratively plan Yoeme language, history, and cultural professional development for the childcare center teachers and staff.
- Observe teachers and provide meaningful feedback, coaching.
- Assist and equip teachers with resources and skills to align their instruction with strong teaching methods.
- Collaborate with appropriate service providers to create student behavioral plans.
- Increase teacher effectiveness by improving the quality of teaching and learning.
- Monitors the effectiveness and efficiency of childcare center curriculum, instruction, and its implementation.
- Prepare and / or review reports and make recommendations for classroom observations and curriculum outcomes.
- Supervise staff, including prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations.
- Working with Curriculum Builders Team to continue to develop Yaqui-centric curricular documents.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with childcare center teachers and social services management staff.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested.
- Leads the center's multi-tiered system of support process and team meetings.
- Leads the quarterly Parent / Family Child Development feedback conferences.
- Oversees budget allocation and ensures cost-effective curricular and pedagogical programs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrate deep knowledge of instructional design and pedagogy.Knowledge or experience with Arizona State and National standards in early childhood education.Tribal, state, and federal law as it relates to Education and CCDF Grantee regulations.Strong writing techniques and principles / theories of data analysis related to Education.Proficiency with Microsoft Office.Haiki language fluency.Haiki culture, customs, resources, traditions, and / or willingness to learn.Knowledge, experience, and proven ability in utilizing differentiated instructional approaches within the classroom.Relationship-based ability to facilitate the development of strategies that will enhance the curriculum and instruction development.Experience with creating and implementing Backward Designing and Planning.Skills and Abilities :

Bachelor's degree within the educational field, Master's degree preferred. Five (5) years of youth classroom experience is required; experience with early children is preferred. One (1) year of supervisory experience and three plus (3+) years of curriculum design, development, and implementation. Or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position. A strong candidate will be proficient in using and teaching the Haiki Language.
Special Requirements :
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License.This position will require the incumbent to work non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends.Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain the Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire.The Pascua Yaqui Tribe provides 22 days of Paid Time Off which increases with years of service and 15 paid Holidays per year.
