Job Title : Physics and Biology Teacher

Location : Chesterton Academy of Albuquerque - Albuquerque, NM

Position Type : Full-Time (2025-2026 Academic Year)

Position Summary

Chesterton Academy of Albuquerque is seeking a Physics and Biology Teacher to join our faculty for the 2025-2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will possess a love for both science and the Catholic faith, and will be enthusiastic about engaging students in the exploration of the natural world through a classical lens. This role includes teaching both upper-level physics and biology to high school students, with a commitment to academic excellence and spiritual formation.

Responsibilities

Teach high school physics and biology in alignment with the school's classical curriculum and Catholic worldview
Foster a classroom environment that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, and joy in discovery
Integrate faith and reason in the teaching of science, emphasizing the wonder and order of God's creation
Prepare and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons and labs
Assess student learning through varied and meaningful assignments
Participate in faculty formation, school Masses, and community events
Collaborate with faculty to uphold the mission and culture of the school

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Physics, Biology, or a related field (Master's preferred)

Teaching experience at the high school level preferred

Practicing Catholic, joyfully faithful to the Magisterium of the Church

Passion for classical education and liberal arts philosophy

Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

Willingness to be involved in the life of the school beyond the classroom
