Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Steel Welder to join our team. In this role, you will work with heavy-grade structural steel, utilizing flux core dual shield welding techniques and thick 3 / 32 wire. Responsibilities

• Fabricate structural steel, working with heavy-grade metal ranging from 1 to 5+ inches thick.
• Perform flux core dual shield welding with thick 3 / 32 wire.
• Maintain accuracy by reading a tape measure to 1 / 16" of an inch and interpreting weld symbols on shop drawings.
• Operate and demonstrate proficiency with common welding shop tools.
• Collaborate with fitters who will handle blueprint reading, focusing on executing welds based on provided weld symbols.
• Sustain productivity and independence, even during repetitive welding tasks on identical pieces.

Work Environment

Working under a large awning that covers the shop floor, the environment is a standard welding shop that is dusty daily. It is an open area shop that is dirty, dusty, and loud, typical of a steel fabrication shop environment. The shop provides shade but is not climate controlled and can get hot. The position is for the 2nd Shift from 5pm to 3 : 30am, currently working an average of 55 to 58 hours a week. They are consistently bidding on jobs that have over 100,000 man-hours with a goal to advance further once new projects start.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PEORIA, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00 / hr.
