Overview :

As a Middle Market M&A Analyst at BMO Capital Markets, you will gain valuable exposure to a wide number of industries, working in complex mergers & acquisitions transactions. Analysts play a critical role in the transaction team.

Upon joining BMO, analysts will start their careers with us by completing the BMO Capital Markets Global Orientation, which begins in July 2026. The program is designed to help you make the transition from theory to practice. Training includes core skills, such as : accounting, valuation and modeling, and pitch book development. This training is delivered by leading industry professionals. You will also complete group-specific training to learn about our strategy, and have plenty of opportunities to socialize with your peers and network with senior management and other internal contacts.

Our goal is to hire young professionals with a desire to pursue a financial services career at BMO, providing them with continued training and professional development throughout their careers at the firm.

Responsibilities :

• Conducting industry and company research and analysis
• Developing client presentations
• Writing internal and external marketing memoranda
• Running valuation analysis, financial analysis and completing complex modeling exercises
• Performing other tasks supporting client relationships and business development
• Balance multiple responsibilities effectively to meet deadlines

This position is ideally suited to talented, highly motivated individuals who seek to build a solid, comprehensive foundation in the basic skills of investment banking.

The annual base salary for this position is USD$110,00.00. This position is also eligible for a bonus plan.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
