Pharmacy Manager
The Pharmacy Manager oversees the day to day operations of the various pharmacy areas pursuant to the distribution, administration and drug information of medication provided throughout the hospital. This individual ensures the utilization of medication safety principles to assure positive therapeutic outcomes.
Responsibilities
1. Provides direction and guidance for the safe processing and dispensing of all medications for assigned area, (areas include but not limited to : IV Manufacturing, Employee Pharmacy, Pharmacy Satellites)
2. Develops and implements systems and procedures to maintain an efficient and effective workflow within the pharmacy and / or assigned areas.
3. Interfaces with appropriate department, medical, nursing and other staff members to coordinate, review, revise and implement Pharmacy policies and procedures as needed.
4. Ensures the department is in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations; accrediting agencies; and Mount Sinai Medical Center policies and procedures.
5. Addresses issues or services requiring intradepartmental coordination proactively, using rounding techniques.
6. Ensures an adequate inventory of pharmacy products and supplies to meet department demands, and ensures proper storage of supplies. Monitors usage and accurate charging for inventory purposes.
7. Manages various personnel functions such as hiring, training, performance appraisals, payroll, scheduling, coaching, rounding, disciplinary actions and terminations.
8. Ensures the proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
9. Exchanges information and provides input for inter-and-intra departmental meetings.
10. May serve on a rotating basis, as on-call Administrator to handle problems that arise evenings and weekends.
11. Maintains adequate documentation to satisfy JCAHO requirements or other regulatory agencies.
12. Performs other related duties.

Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $127,044.00 - $190,565.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses / incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
