Description :

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring adherence to individualized care plans. The RN supervises LPNs, CNAs, and orientees while promoting a safe and supportive care environment aligned with Select Medical’s Core Values and safety-focused culture.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Complete a full nursing assessment within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Identify patient and family teaching needs; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide timely patient updates for initial and weekly team conferences.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and responses.
  • Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process : assess, plan, implement, evaluate.
  • Participate actively in rehabilitation programs and encourage patients toward their goals.
  • Initiate discharge planning on day one and provide thorough patient / family education.
  • Communicate changes in patient status clearly to physicians and charge nurses.
  • Seek guidance for complex clinical decisions when appropriate.
  • Delegate and supervise ancillary staff effectively.
  • Promote and maintain a safe environment following hospital policies and safety protocols.
  • Support team cohesion, positive communication, and efficient unit workflow.
  • Communicate equipment / supply needs and practice cost-effective care.
  • Assume charge nurse duties after orientation, as requested.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and self-study.

    • Required Skills / Certifications :

  • BLS — Required
  • ACLS — Required
  • Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience — Required
