Summary

Responsible for facilitating access to Medical Center services. Utilizes effective communication and documentation with physicians, physician staff, health care facilities, patients and patient representatives to collect and analyze pertinent clinical data as related to the procedure(s) scheduled, intervening to prevent problems that could result in adverse patient outcomes or delayed / cancelled procedures. Provides exemplary customer service and interacts in a professional, courteous manner with co-workers, physicians, patients and the public.

5. Provides recommendations and education to physician office staff commensurate with scope of practice in scheduling of procedure(s).

\n\n

8. Screens / determines appropriateness of level of care and admission status; notifies appropriate department(s) based on assessment of patient needs.

\n\n

9. Enters order sets for procedures while coordinating with physician offices and performing departments. Reviews for accuracy to ensure all orders needed are entered and available.

10. Documents pre- certification / authorization / referral information when applicable.

\n\n

15. Collaborates with management to plan and communicate changes to the work group.

17. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

\n\n

19. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

\n\n

Current Registered licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience required. Experience with hospital / health operations and general background in all areas of nursing practice preferred.
