The Electrical Technician will be a critical member of our engineering team, responsible for the hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic devices and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) in a lab environment. This role requires expertise in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) PCB assembly, proficiency in operating test bench equipment, and the ability to leverage Python for test automation and data analysis. ResponsibilitiesSMT PCB Assembly and Rework : Perform fine-pitch SMT soldering and desoldering under a microscope.Assemble and rework Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components and modules, adhering to IPC-A-610 standards.Read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs) to identify common SMT parts and collaborate with engineering to assemble and replace components as necessary.Test Bench Operations and Procedures : Set up, configure, and operate a variety of test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.Develop and execute test procedures to validate the functionality of electronic devices and PCB assemblies.Analyze test data, identify trends, and troubleshoot malfunctions in circuits and systems down to the discrete component level.Collaborate with engineers to ensure test specifications and procedures are met.Test Automation and Python Scripting : Develop and maintain Python scripts for test automation, data acquisition, and analysis in the lab environment.Integrate Python scripts with test equipment to automate test sequences, collect data, and generate reports.Contribute to the development and improvement of automated test equipment (ATE).Troubleshooting and Repair : Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with electronic components, circuits, and systems using test equipment and schematics.Perform repairs, modifications, and rework on PCBs and electronic assemblies.Document repair procedures and test results thoroughly.Laboratory Management and Support : Maintain a clean and organized lab environment, including handling and disposal of hazardous materials according to safety guidelines.Manage inventory of lab supplies and equipment, communicating stock levels and requirements to the purchasing team.Assist engineers in prototyping, testing, and validation of new electronic products and solutions.Collaborate effectively with engineers and other technicians on projects. QualificationsEducation :  Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience : Proven experience in hand assembling and reworking Surface Mount Technology (SMT) PCBs.Strong experience operating and troubleshooting using various test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies).Experience working in a lab environment, including prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.Experience with Python scripting for test automation, data acquisition, and analysis.Skills : Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.Excellent manual dexterity and fine motor skills for working with small components.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions meticulously.Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.Basic understanding of electronic components and circuit board schematics.Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaborating effectively with engineering and production teams. Preferred qualificationsIPC soldering certifications (e.g., IPC J-STD-001).Experience with Altium Designer or similar CAD software.Familiarity with various modulation formats in communication.
