Job Description

The University of Nevada Reno Human Resources division has an exciting opportunity for a Personnel Technician position provides support to the Pay Administration team and is the primary contact for Student Employment and position is responsible for ensuring I-9s are completed timely and correctly reviewing documents for accuracy responding to questions from departments running reports to check data quality and identifying and resolving position reviews Grants-in-Aid eligibility and determines approvals. The position also serves as the backup receptionist and supports departments by answering questions and determining resolutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills the ability to multi-task and a motivation to learn.

Required Qualifications

This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and one (1) year of technical personnel / payroll experience; OR

One (1) year of experience as a Personnel Technician I in Nevada State service; OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience working in an HR office and / or using HR Information System / s are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 27

In classified service salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment the candidates qualifications internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
