Job Summary :
Reporting to the Manager and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, you will provide professional and comprehensive health, wellness, and safety guidance and services to the employee population. You'll act in accordance with all applicable practice standards, regulations, and company policies and procedures in various environments including manufacturing and office settings. Your role will be integral in supporting holistic health, safety, and wellbeing for both employees and the company.
General Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements specific to the location.
- Adhere to company-specific standards and expectations pertaining to Occupational Health.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation regarding regulatory and company medical record confidentiality, retention standards, and policies.
- Perform and oversee other duties consistent with nursing roles and responsibilities as directed by location Leadership Teams.
- Identify opportunities for cost control, process improvements, and quality customer service.
Clinical Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care including prompt medical emergency response, prevention, treatment, and follow-up for occupational injuries / illnesses, referrals, and non-Rx medications.Implement Early Symptom Intervention and Management Programs.Assess non-work-related concerns and collaborate with onsite and offsite professionals to provide guidance and resources for care and treatment.Collaborate with onsite and off-site medical providers, including physical therapists, specialists, and / or Nurse Case Managers.Claims Management
Document reported work-related injuries and illnesses in internal and external systems accurately and timely, as per company policy.Act as the Subject Matter Expert on work-related claims and claim statuses, collaborating with TPA claims adjusters and onsite claim management.Regularly review claims for consistency, documentation, and care to ensure proper recording and reporting of injuries and illnesses as per regulatory and corporate standards.Engage in the return-to-work process for work-related injuries and illnesses, collaborating with stakeholders for accommodated work.Medical Surveillance
Participate in medical surveillance programs, including Life Saving Rules, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection Program, and others as per local regulations and / or corporate policy.Adhere to Substance Free Workplace corporate guidelines and policies for drug screen collection and processing.Participate in Post Offer Health Assessment programs.Wellness
Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external entities to deliver holistic health and wellness initiatives to employees.Act as a resource for personal, holistic wellness needs, providing guidance and connections for programs such as employee assistance programs, wellness initiatives, and direction to employee benefit programs and offerings.Collaboration and Interactive Processes
Act as an advocate for both the employee and Company regarding health and safety concerns.Interface with internal and external entities to provide effective, best practice perspectives.Participate with committees and groups engaging in health, safety, or other disability-related concerns.Collaborate with employees and key stakeholders to engage in initiatives requiring medical insight.Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Participate as a team member.Respond to and treat employee's illness / injury utilizing sound clinical judgement supported by Nursing Guidelines and Standing Orders.Have proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other electronic documentation systems.Have effective organizational, planning skills, written, and verbal communication skills.Have knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements pertinent to an onsite occupational health clinic.Minimum Education Requirements
Licensed Practical Nurse (current nursing license to practice in state / country where employed).No license lapses, suspensions, or involuntary revocations in any state or country.Basic life support certification or training equivalent in CPR / first aid / AED.NIOSH approved spirometry certification (training will be conducted upon the first three months of hire if needed).CAOHC approved audiometry certification (training will be conducted upon the first three months of hire if needed).Certification in urine drug screen and breath alcohol collections.Active affiliations with local national professional associations preferred.Minimum Experience Requirements
At least 2-3 years of experience as a nurse in an industrial occupational health department required.
