Certified Histology Technician - Part Time

Location : Peoria, IL

Salary : $29.30 - $41.36 / hr + Sign-On Bonus ($2,500-$10,000)

Schedule : Part-time Day Shift, Rotating Weekends & Holidays

Position Overview

We are seeking a Certified Histology Technician to join our laboratory team in Peoria, IL. This role involves preparing tissues for microscopic examination and ensuring high-quality diagnostic support.

What You'll Do

  • Perform tissue preparation, cutting, embedding, and staining for microscopic analysis
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents and solutions
  • Assist pathologists with gross examinations and autopsy specimens
  • Maintain equipment, perform routine maintenance, and document quality assurance
  • Instruct students, lab assistants, or new employees in histology techniques
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement and uphold high patient care standards

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay range : $29.30-$41.36 / hr
  • Sign-On Bonus :

    • $2,500 for 1-year commitment

  • $5,000 for 2-year commitment
  • $10,000 for 3-year commitment
  • Paid holidays (time-and-a-half if scheduled)
  • Set schedules (M-F, 8-hour shifts; occasional Saturday rotation)
  • Flexible weekday off if scheduled on Saturday
  • Supportive team environment with opportunities for skill development

    • Work Schedule

  • Regular weekday shifts (Day, Evening, or Night available)
  • Day shift includes occasional Saturday mornings (~1 per month)
  • Evenings : Monday-Friday, 8 hours
  • Nights : split schedules (Sun-Thu or Mon-Fri)
  • No on-call required

    • Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in a science-related field (Bachelor's preferred)
  • Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Histotechnology program
  • ASCP certification (or eligibility within 1 year)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Histology Technician preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a laboratory team setting
