Equine Breeding Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Equine Breeding Manager to facilitate operations on a dynamic horse ranch. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in equine care, ensuring the highest standards of animal husbandry and operational efficiency. This role requires a hands-on approach, and practical experience in equine breeding.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations related to animal care, ensuring compliance with best practices in sanitation and animal welfare.

Oversee animal husbandry practices, including feeding, care, and health monitoring of horses.

Implement protocols for blood sampling and other veterinary procedures as necessary.

Ability to transfer cloned embryos in recipient mares.

Monitor, medicate and care for newborn cloned foals.

Collaborate with veterinary professionals to address health concerns and develop treatment plans for animals.

Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness and adherence to safety standards.

Engage in heavy lifting tasks related to feed or equipment movement as required.

Qualifications

High School diploma and 1 year experience.

Ability to inseminate cloned embryos.

Portuguese language skills preferred.

Proven experience with equine care is critical.

Strong background in animal handling, husbandry, and veterinary practices preferred.
