Overview

Lexington Community Church (Lexington, IL) is currently searching for a pastor of worship and music to provide pastoral care, musical leadership, and musical teaching. We are looking for a qualified man to come alongside our leadership and serve our congregation.

Job Description :

The Pastor of Worship and Music will provide pastoral care to our congregation (in coordination with the other elders), musical leadership to our Worship Team and corporate gatherings, and musical teaching to increase our congregation’s ministry opportunities through music.

Responsibilities

Shepherd the flock – This person will serve as a fellow elder being biblically qualified according to 1 Timothy 3 : 1-7 and Titus 1 : 5-9, and able to teach in order to shepherd the flock at LCC

Lead Worship – In cooperation with the other elders, this person will put together the order of worship and lead the music during our Sunday services. Also, he will oversee the Worship Team and its ancillary duties and responsibilities

Teach Music – This person will be skilled in music and help expand our musical worship beyond the corporate setting on Sunday

When able, increase our congregation’s proficiency in music – reading music, singing parts, etc.

Develop a singing program for our kids / youth

Coordinate music for special events throughout the year

Qualifications

Character = biblically qualified.

Convictions = aligns with our church doctrine.

Competence = suitable for the position.

Chemistry = the right fit with our leaders, staff, Worship Team, and congregation.

The ideal candidate will have a calling to shepherd God’s people, possess leadership qualities, be skilled musically, and desire to equip others to serve with their musical gifts.

Requirements

Experience in leading congregational worship

Strong musician on guitar or keyboard

Competence in reading music

Ability to train / equip others in music

Familiarity with ProPresenter

Working knowledge of A / V programs, components, and camera recording equipment

Hours and Availability

Full-time Pastor of Worship and Music position. Position begins as soon as applicant is available.
