A CAD Designer creates detailed technical drawings and digital models used in engineering, architecture, and product development. Using computer-aided design (CAD) software, they translate concepts, specifications, and sketches into precise 2D and 3D designs. CAD Designers collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure accuracy, functionality, and compliance with industry standards. They revise and update designs based on feedback, conduct quality checks, and support the development process from concept through production. With strong attention to detail and technical expertise, CAD Designers play a key role in bringing projects to life efficiently and accurately.

Job Summary

  • Accurately and effectively prepare architectural & engineering drawings and specifications by agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Ensure drawings adhere to company standards, as well as national, state, and local codes / ordinances.
  • Support the Director of Architecture & Engineering as needed for projects and special assignments.
  • Essential Activities

  • 60% Preparation of architectural & engineering drawings and specifications utilizing AutoCAD
  • 15% Modify drawings per redline mark-ups from A&E staff.
  • 10% Ensure drawings are following company standards and national, state, and local codes and ordinances.
  • 10% Attend field site walks to obtain site measurements and photos of field conditions.
  • 5% Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the Director of A&E Operations.
  • Key Characteristics to be successful in this role

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience with AutoCAD.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills for organization.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level with computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office (including Outlook and Word).
  • Ability to manage one’s own time and properly prioritize tasks to complete projects accurately and on time, consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Able to sit, research, and process documents on a computer for long periods required.
  • Experience

  • Strong knowledge and experience with AutoCAD.
  • Interested in architectural and engineering development, architectural studies, engineering studies, legal and IT studies, or similar areas of study.
  • Good knowledge of architectural and engineering practices, methods, and procedures.
  • Licenses or Certifications

  • Certification in technical drafting preferred

    Pay $26 / hr.
