Job Title : Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Travel Nurse

Location : Salem, VA 24153 (Roanoke Valley)

Healthcare Facility : Emergency Department, 1900 Electric Rd

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Contract

Start Date : December 3, 2025

End Date : March 4, 2026

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Nursing Shift : 12 Hour Nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : Four weekend shifts per four-week schedule (Friday or Saturday nights)

Dress Code : Navy blue or white scrubs

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1780 - $1910

ER RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state

Minimum 2-3 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience

At least 2-3 completed travel nurse assignments in the ER

Current certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC

Preferred certifications : ENPC, NRP, NIHSS

Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced ER settings with patient ratios of 4-6 : 1

Strong teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in a 27-bed Emergency Department

Perform and assist with emergency procedures : Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI), sepsis interventions, stroke protocol (tPA administration), central line placement, and psychiatric patient care

Manage patient transfers in compliance with EMTALA regulations

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including RNs and medics

Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR

Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and strong clinical judgment in a fast-paced ER environment
