This position offers the opportunity to work on litigation matters across various industries, with an emphasis on insurance defense and coverage matters.
A hybrid schedule is available for this role.
Responsibilities Manage a caseload of litigation files from inception to final resolution.
Manage discovery matters, including taking and defending depositions, and drafting and responding to written discovery requests.
Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Prepare for and attend court proceedings, arbitrations, administrative hearings, and mediations.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the litigation process.
Collaborate with colleagues on complex legal issues and strategies.
Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Admitted to practice law in Michigan (or eligible for immediate admission).
A year of civil litigation experience with an interest in insurance defense and / or coverage analysis is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Superior written and verbal / interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and be self-disciplined while managing multiple priorities.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
