Production Planning Specialist (Bilingual Korean\English)

Please Note : This is a long term, temporary position that may last from 3 months up to 1 year

Key role between sales and plant production; responsible for daily scheduling of product based on monthly sales orders, as well as the tire building schedule for APU and Curing departments to ensure production goals can be met. Forecasts production speeds in order to calculate daily production goals. Perform other tasks related to production planning and make schedule adjustments as needed.

Primary Duties

  • Conduct scheduling production of APU based on sales orders; schedule the curing layout and arrangement of molds based on monthly sales, and ensure it is completed two days in advance (sometimes sooner) so departments like Mixing can plan ahead. Complete daily scheduling of production using Automatic Production Scheduling (APS) and MES software for each shift.
  • Make schedule adjustments if issues occur or production needs change.
  • Communicate directly with all departments within the plant to prepare for production planning as needed.
  • Schedule next year’s production plan and long-term (5-year) production plan by using BPC system.
  • Create additional schedule in Excel spreadsheets to forecast production speeds.

Minimum knowledge, skills & abilities

  • Bilingual English\Korean, valid Driver’s License; Detail oriented, math and aptitude skills, ability to reason, organization skills, basic computer skills, self-motivated, communication skills and critical thinking skills

    • Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • Mathematics degree preferred, Computer Science, Data Science or Business also acceptable

    • Physical Requirements

  • Office or Other Indoor Work : With minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting / moving materials less than 25 pounds.

    • Working Conditions

  • Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors and / or any number of elements.
