We are seeking a Strategic Finance, Director to report directly to the VP of Strategic Finance. This highly visible individual contributor role is designed for a proven leader who thrives in ambiguity, translates big-picture goals into actionable results, and elevates how finance operates in a fast-scaling environment. As the VP's right hand, you'll drive our finance systems roadmap, AI and automation initiatives, and cross-functional special projectspartnering across Corporate Finance, Commercial Finance, HR, and operations to enable scale, efficiency, and impact.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for :

• Proven experience 8+ years in consulting, banking, or strategic finance roles within progressive tech companies, with a track record of driving cross-functional initiatives and creating impacteven in areas beyond your immediate expertise.
• Builder's mindset with curiosity You thrive on turning ambiguity into clarity, designing scalable systems, processes, and structures, and constantly seeking smarter, more effective ways to work.
• Influential collaborator A trusted partner who inspires confidence, builds alignment, and energizes stakeholders to move forward together in fast-paced, high-impact environments.
• Operational rigor & stakeholder partnership Expert at managing complex initiatives end-to-end. You actively listen, uncover key alignment opportunities, and simplify coordination so teams work seamlessly toward shared goals.
• Strategic translation & executive communication Able to transform complex data and stakeholder input into clear, compelling, and actionable presentations, narratives, and dashboards that drive confident decision-making at the leadership and board level.
• Innovation & motivation to optimize Experience using and leading efforts to implement AI-powered applications and tooling within a Finance org, or a strong interest and capacity to ramp up quickly in this space is an asset.

What you can expect :

USA-based roles only : The annual base salary for this role is between $174,000 USD and $236,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs. Canada-based roles only : The annual base salary for this role is between $157,000 CAD and $213,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
