Senior Test Engineer (Remote Eligible, U.S.) – GE Vernova
In this role, the Engineer will provide day‑to‑day support of GVH projects and assist in the development of the Equipment Qualification Programs to meet regulatory requirements. The Engineer works closely with engineering staff to ensure requirements are identified and implemented in accordance with GVH design and licensing strategy, defines and executes the design and licensing strategy for Equipment Qualification Programs, and participates in interactions with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, including pre‑application discussions, preparing and reviewing topical reports, and responding to additional information requests.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in the successful design and implementation of the equipment qualification program.
- Coordinate with design personnel to ensure new designs and design changes meet Equipment Qualification Program regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, review, and maintain licensing documentation in compliance with regulations and strict quality assurance standards.
- Interface with technical discipline teams at GVH, partners, and contractors.
- Review correspondence to and from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
- Assist with safety analysis report (SAR) revisions and preparation.
- Prepare or review equipment qualification regulatory evaluations.
- Apply technical problem‑solving skills and assess problems thoroughly.
- Demonstrate ownership, proactively communicate, and deliver assignments on time.
- Present technical data to co‑workers and customers.
- Perform qualification tests and maintain a high level of accuracy in data recording and test report preparation.
- Be willing to travel domestically and, on occasion, internationally to support customer or supplier meetings.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Instrumentation and Controls Engineering.Five years of experience in development and implementation of equipment qualification.Five years of experience in nuclear industry activities related to equipment qualification.Eligibility Requirements
Preferred work location : GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; highly qualified U.S.–based remote candidates will be considered.The role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information; final offers are contingent on obtaining authorization from the U.S. Government.Willingness to travel domestically to customer and test locations (maximum 10% travel).Desired Qualifications
