Job Summary
Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related procedures. Collaborate with the cardiology team to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures
- Monitor patient vital signs and cardiac status during procedures
- Assist physicians during catheterization and interventional procedures
- Administer medications and intravenous therapies as ordered
- Provide patient education and post-procedure care instructions
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols
- Document patient care accurately and timely in medical records
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and complications
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
Current RN licensure in the state of practiceMinimum 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in cardiac or critical careBasic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification requiredStrong clinical assessment and critical thinking skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environmentPreferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a cardiac catheterization lab or cardiac care unitCertification in Cardiac Vascular Nursing (RCVN) or equivalentCertifications
