Position : CVICU Advanced Practice Provider - Full-Time Nights
- Shift : 6 PM - 6 AM, paid for 40 hours
- Rotating weekends and holidays required
- AGACNP certification required
- 2-3 years of RN or NP experience in CVICU or Critical Cardiac Care needed
- Experience with heart failure population is a must
- Patient population includes CT surgery patients, endovascular and open aortic repairs, and CABG / Valves
- Training on devices provided
- 8% geographical differential for the medical center
- Credentialing process may take 2-3 months
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Master's degree in Nursing with certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center or Pediatric Nursing Certification in the area of intended practice.Licenses / Certifications :Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing.
Certification in Basic Life Support; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within three months of hire.Experience / Knowledge / Skills :
Three years of clinical nursing experience in the intended practice area; two years in an Advanced Practice role.Principal Accountabilities
Role of Clinical Expert :Develop and assist in implementing nursing care plans and standards specific to the patient's age and needs.
Provide direction to nursing staff in clinical decision-making and priority settings; model excellence in nursing practice.Facilitate and innovate state-of-the-art nursing care, evaluating new techniques and equipment.Conduct history and physical exams on patients, write medical orders per established protocols, and perform approved clinical services.Assess health status of assigned patients through data collection and analysis.Role of Educator :Educate patients and their families on health and wellness, develop educational materials, and contribute to effective discharge planning.
Serve as a resource to nursing staff and students in enhancing knowledge and skills.Contribute to nursing literature and education through publishing and teaching.Role of Researcher :Conduct nursing research to expand the scientific base of nursing practice; present and publish research findings.
Critically analyze nursing research methods and results to improve patient care and outcomes.
