Shift Supervisor-Nursing
To supervise the staff and operations of nursing care for assigned areas or units. To schedule and ensure appropriate staffing. To ensure that supplies and equipment are available. To work with the nurse managers and clinical directors to resolve any issues pertaining to the assigned area or unit. To educate and consult patients and families regarding their concerns. To perform job duties in accordance with the medical center's purpose.
Education & Experience
Licensed as RN for two (2) years. Two years of RN experience in specified area preferred. BSN preferred. Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required : Valid RN license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of nursing procedures. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and registered nurses. Knowledge and understanding of computer systems, tools, and programs. Supervisory skills. Possesses current competencies in nursing clinical practice. Responsibilities
Physical and Environmental Demands Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and / or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal / clinical nature, frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching / stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing / pulling, occasional reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking.
