JOB TITLE : Academic Assessment Professional

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : Master’s degree in Higher Education, Assessment, or closely related degree and 3 years (36 months) of experience working with higher education and / or employment data or assessment.

Job Duties :

Leading assessment projects by designing and implementing data collection, analyzing qualitative and / or quantitative data, writing reports of findings, and guiding staff through interpretations of findings that advance career services, enhance the value of internship / experien¬tial education, and demonstrate the value of career services for the retention, graduation, and post-graduation success of students. Assessing the impact of career development programming on student learning; career exploration, decision making, and management; student engagement; retention; progress towards graduation; degree completion; and post-graduation success. Implementing the Career Center Assessment Plan, initiating / organizing annual assessment projects for the Career Center, and assisting with data for annual reports. Collaborating with FSU Institutional Research, as well as faculty / staff across campus, to define assessment topics of interest and design studies to examine questions that address the career / professional development of students and alumni. Producing assessment and research reports, fact sheets, and other written materials, including analyses based on timely, systematically derived data. Assisting Career Center marketing and communications staff, as well as academic colleges and other campus partners, to use data more effectively to share success stories of Florida State University students and graduates. Responding to requests for information about the Career Center’s assessments and data to outside partners and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications :

Expertise in data analysis techniques and methodology, knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles and practices to strategically align tasks and people with organizational goals and objectives, ability to convey technical information to technical and non-technical users, skill in preparing clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials, and the ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop changes or alternatives.

Experience overseeing data collection and management and contributing to the creation and maintenance of online tools and databases, familiarity with survey use and assessment tools such as Excel, SPSS, and Qualtrics or other online program review and survey tools, and the ability to generate clear, concise reports that include the reporting of statistical information and outcomes to facilitate decision-making.
