Per Diem Surgical Processing Technician

IVI America has a need for a per-diem Sterile Processing Technician for our Marlton clinic. We are looking for someone that can cover shifts from 8am-3pm.

Job Purpose :

The Sterile Processing Technician is assigned duties performing decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment throughout the surgery center, utilizing infection control and safety practices during all phases of the process.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities :

• Verifies equipment functions properly, requisitions for equipment maintenance, repair or replacement, and removes defective equipment.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area at all times.
• Assists with maintaining established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives as well as quality improvement, safety, and environmental and infection control standards.
• Decontaminates, inspects and sterilizes instruments, medical supplies and equipment.
• Assembles, wraps and sterilizes instrument trays.
• Monitors biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.
• Performs steam and high-level sterilization of instruments and medical devices.
• Performs and records all quality control monitoring.
• Checks for packaging integrity and expiration dates on all sterile items.
• Restocks, labels, and maintains inventory, submits requisitions, collects and distributes instruments and trays.
• Performs maintenance duties and assists in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing, the operating room, and in equipment storage areas.

Academic Training :

Studies level : High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
