Job Summary

The IT Security Analyst role primarily focuses on cybersecurity operations with a combination of providing technical support for our internal clinical and operations team, and external hospital clients. This role will operate with a high degree of autonomy and discretion to monitor threats, respond to incidents, and manage vulnerabilities and escalate issues when appropriate. They will also troubleshoot DICOM and HL7-related issues, and provide technical assistance. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow in cybersecurity and healthcare IT within a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Note : This position is scheduled from 7 : 00pm - 3 : 00am ET throughout the week. Once trained, this position is included in an alternating on-call weekend / holiday coverage schedule, including some nights, as needed.

This is a fully remote position and can be performed anywhere within the United States. A high-bandwidth, stable, and reliable internet connection is required.

Job Description

Security Operations :

  • Monitoring and Detection

Monitor security alerts and logs from various sources (SIEM, EDR, RMM, etc. )

  • Analyze system logs for signs of unauthorized access or malicious activity
  • Incident Response
  • Assist in investigating and mitigating security incidents, such as malware infections, phishing attacks, or unauthorized access to data

  • Document incident details and contribute to post-incident reports to improve security protocols
  • Follow predefined playbooks and develop recommendations to contain and resolve incidents
  • Vulnerability and Patch Management
  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans to identify weaknesses in environment

  • Analyze, prioritize, and recommend application of patches or updates to workstations
  • Track and report on patch compliance to ensure systems remain secure
  • Document findings and assist in prioritizing remediation efforts
  • Threat Detection
  • Support proactive threat-hunting initiatives to identify emerging risks

  • Stay informed about healthcare-specific cyber threats and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Risk Mitigation
  • Review and manage user access ensuring least privilege and secure authentication

  • Analyze risk register and identify any emerging risks
  • Maintain ongoing monitoring to detect new risks as systems, applications, or threat landscapes evolve
  • Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA & HITECH regulations in all technical and security activities

  • Assist in preparing for audits and maintaining documentation
  • Assist in delivering security awareness training
  • Technical Support (Internal and External) :

  • Resolve assigned overnight tickets and transition any support to the day shift
  • Assist with technical issues related to PACS, Workstations, or operation software
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding
  • Point of contact for clients experiencing DICOM, HL7, or Network issues
  • Update and maintain internal KBs and CRM
  • Additional Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with the Security Team to implement security and technical solutions; contribute to the development and refinement of security protocols and procedures
  • Maintain detailed documentation of troubleshooting steps, security incidents and system configurations
  • Recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and security
  • Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (Preferred) or equivalent level of on-the-job IT experience
  • CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA CySA+, CCNA, or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with DICOM, HL7, or PACS is a plus but not required (training provided).
  • 02 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or healthcare IT support.
  • Other Skills and Knowledge :

  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity tools (e.g., SIEM, firewalls, antivirus software).
  • Understanding of network protocols, TCP / IP, and VPNs.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Love and passion for technology and helping others
  • Desire to learn and grow knowledge through training, certifications, or other resources
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstration of discretion in handling sensitive information
  • Compensation : Starting Base Salary $65,000 + Opportunity for Annual Target Bonus
