Job Overview :
The VDC Engineer plays a key role in leading and advancing Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) initiatives, ensuring the seamless integration of BIM technologies and digital workflows into construction projects. This mid-level position involves technical expertise in 3D / 4D modeling, coordination, and project optimization but also requires a leadership mindset to mentor and train less experienced employees, fostering a culture of innovation and professional growth across the company.
Responsibilities :
- Creating detailed 3D models of construction projects or components of construction projects. up to level 400
- Support the company in providing and implementing VDC-based solutions.
- Use VDC software for construction simulations to improve project efficiency.
- Participate in project meetings to present VDC solutions.
- Perform and Train employee in on-site field as-building and layout with VDC hardware solutions
Education :
Bachelors degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Open to recent graduates with relevant internships or coursework in VDC / BIM.
Experience :
Familiarity with VDC / BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu) is required.Experience in general construction work including but not limited to (MEP, Architectural, Structural, etc.) is highly preferred.Experience using site survey tools including but not limited to (Total Station, 3D Walkthroughs, Point to Point Measuring, etc.)Skills :
Experienced knowledge of VDC software like Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or AutoCAD.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work collaboratively in team environments.Time management skills with a focus on meeting project deadlines.Abilities :
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and technologies.Ability to interpret and educate on construction drawings and schematics.Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Strong analytical skills for assessing project data and VDC outcomes.Punctual and professionalCertifications :
No certifications required, but exposure to relevant construction software is a plus.Any BIM or VDC training certifications are advantageous.Preferred Qualifications :
Previous employment experience in the construction industry, particularly in a VDC / BIM role.Experience with cloud-based collaboration tools and platforms.Knowledge of basic construction processes and project management concepts.Working Conditions :
This role involves both office and site locations.Physical demands include walking, standing, and occasional lifting.The position requires visits to construction sites, including wearing appropriate safety PPE.Benefits :
