American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in an acute care setting, requiring a current CA RN license and advanced fetal monitoring certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units within an acute care hospital environmentUnit includes 14 L&D beds, 6 triage beds, 2 OR suites, and 28 postpartum bedsCare for a variety of patients including any gestational age, antepartum, high-risk deliveries, substance abuse, pre-eclampsia, and insulin-dependent diabeticsPatient ratios are 2 : 1 for laboring patients and 1 : 4 for couplet care, following AWHONN guidelinesCirculating for C-sections is required; scrubbing experience preferredFetal monitoring with Fetal Link and telemetry with Phillips equipmentUses Cerner EMR; prior Cerner experience is preferred12-hour night shifts from 7p-7a, with every other weekend requiredFloat to postpartum is required but postpartum staff do not float to L&DNo on-call obligations, though standby may be neededWill work collaboratively with a team including charge nurses, OB techs, nurse aides, RT and pharmacy staffFollows a holiday rotation schedule shared with permanent staffScrub colors are seal blue for L&D nurses and provided by the facilityMust pass Relias Dysrhythmia and sterile technique exams if in the Sacramento, CA regionReturning employees must not have been employed by affiliated health systems (CommonSpirit / CHI / Dignity) in the past year unless PRN through outside firmsFirst time travelers will be considered for this position\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience requiredCertifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWOHNN Advanced)COVID-19 vaccination requiredAbility to provide 2 professional references : one supervisor reference from within the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the past 3 yearsExperience circulating for C-sections required; scrubbing for C-sections is preferredMust provide a copy of Driver's LicenseSuccessful completion of floor-specific orientation and required in-house competency tests\n Benefits\n
